City of Erie to Remove Unauthorized Skate Park

City of Erie to Remove Unauthorized Skate Park ERIE, PA (July 24, 2020) – Bureau of Streets to remove installation of an unauthorized skate park on the south side of Woodland Drive.

The Bureau of Streets has fenced off the concrete ramps and posted it as hazardous on Woodland Drive yesterday morning. Public Works Assistant Director Charles Zysk spoke to several residents yesterday in an effort to reach out to the individuals who created the ramps. “One neighbor did tell me that the individuals always arrive in cars, which leads me to believe they are not from the area,” said Zysk.

“The Bureau of Streets evaluated the safety and community concerns of the site of the skate park, and determined the equipment was installed in a public right of way and creates a liability to the City of Erie,” said Public Works Director Dave Mulvihill.

Updates on this project will be available on the City of Erie’s website next week. Please refer to the attached map to see where the unauthorized skate park is.
