Public meeting to be held on Downtown Streetscape Master Plan

The City of Erie invites the public to a meeting on the Downtown Streetscape Master Plan, which includes multiple phases of upgrades from Second to Twelfth streets.

The first phase of the project will cover areas from South Park Row to Twelfth Street. It is expected to be completed by early 2024. The project proposes:

  • New concrete curbs
  • Decorative LED lighting with new light poles
  • Soil cells, which are used for sediment control and better future tree health
  • Expanded green space, which will be strips of grass along the curb

Future phases may include:

  • ADA-compliant curb ramps
  • New sidewalks
  • Lead walks, which will connect the roadway to the sidewalks through the new green spaces

Phase 1 public meeting:

Date:   Wednesday March 29, 2023

Time:  5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Place: City Hall, City Council Chambers, 626 State Street

This meeting will serve to offer public comment on Phase 1, along with the project as a whole. The meeting location is compliant with the American with Disabilities Act.
