Erie Police Department to hold steering-wheel lock giveaway for KIA owners

The Erie Police Department, in partnership with KIA Corp., will host a steering-wheel lock giveaway for Kia vehicles affected by a recent vehicle theft trend. The distribution is intended for owners of 2011 to 2021 Kia vehicles with steel turnkey ignitions.

To be eligible, citizens must reside or work in the City of Erie and be the registered owner of the vehicle. Citizens are asked to bring their vehicle and provide proof of ownership as well as proof of residency or employment in the City of Erie.

There is a limited supply of locks available and will be distributed on a first come, first served, basis.

Place: Erie Police Department, 626 State St., in the police parking lot on the northwest corner of West Seventh and Peach streets.
