Glow Golf has arrived at Erie golf course

Glow Golf is here.

The nighttime sport, which uses LED-lit golf balls and LED pin markers, will be offered during select evenings at J.C. Martin Golf Course, 652 Shunpike Road in Erie, through Sept. 2, 2023.

On a recent evening, a foursome laughed their way through the course. “It’s something different,” said Julie Dunn, 41, after sinking her putt on the first green. “It’s a good time.”

Bring your clubs. You’ll purchase the special LED golf balls at the J.C. Martin Pro Shop.

The nine-hole J.C. Martin golf course includes LED markers along the fairways as well as LED pin markers. Tee times are every 10 minutes for groups of two or four, beginning a half-hour before dusk. The par-5 first hole has been adapted with a temporary tee box in the fairway to make all nine holes into par-3s.

Reaction – and participation – has been great so far, said Ryan Bickel, Course Manager for J.C. Martin Golf Course.

“The golfers love it,” he said during a recent Glow Golf evening. “They thought it was something different to do in the summer.”

Glow Golf nights will be offered on Thursdays through Saturdays through Sept. 2, depending on weather. Call ahead for reservations, and to get information about glow golf fees: 814-864-1821.
