Public meeting scheduled for Downtown Streetscape Master Plan project

The City will host a public meeting regarding implementation of the Downtown Streetscape Master Plan. This meeting will serve to collect public comment on the entire project, but specifically on Phase 2.
The Downtown Streetscape Master Plan includes multiple phases on State Street from Second to 12th Streets and includes curbs, ADA ramps, sidewalks, decorative lighting, soil cells, trees, landscaping, and green space. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 encompass South Park Row to 12th Street.


Phase 1, currently out for bid and scheduled to be completed in 2024, includes:

  • New curbs
  • Decorative lighting
  • Soil cells

Phase 2, scheduled to be bid later this year and completed in 2024, includes:

  • New sidewalks
  • Planter areas for new sidewalk trees
  • Decorative stamped, colored concrete installed between planter areas
  • Curb ramps that are Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant

New sidewalks will be installed along with new ADA ramps at the street intersections. Planter areas will be added with stamped colored concrete installed between the planter areas.

Place: Erie City Hall, 626 State St., City Council chambers

This public meeting will be livestreamed on the City’s Facebook page, at the “Live” tab on the City’s YouTube channel, and CAM-Erie Spectrum channel 1021. It will also be posted online through the City’s Government channel at www.camerie.org/vod. Click on “Watch Live” and scroll down to click on the City of Erie logo. Comments can be made on the Facebook livestream as well as the Zoom link and will be presented as part of the public meeting.
