Mayor Schember’s statement on tentative Wabtec agreement: Vote to be held on Thursday; 1,400 could return to work.

Mayor Joe Schember on Thursday released the following statement regarding the current labor dispute between Wabtec Corp. and Local 506 and 618 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America:
“I am pleased that a tentative agreement has been reached between Wabtec Corp. and Locals 506 and 618 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America. I’m hopeful that a “yes” vote later today will result in nearly 1,400 union members returning to work after a two-month-long strike at the Erie region’s largest manufacturer. A fair contract is a win for both the company and the workers, as well as our community, families, and businesses across the Erie region. I hope that, going forward,
