Public hearings to be held Monday on the City of Erie’s FY 2023 Annual Action Plan

The City of Erie is currently preparing its Annual Action Plan for FY 2023 for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). Two public hearings – the third and fourth of four scheduled hearings – will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The purpose of these hearings is to obtain the views and comments of residents, social service agencies, and other interested parties relative to housing and community development needs that may be addressed by CDBG, HOME, and ESG funds during the next fiscal year.

Applications opened in December 2022 for CDBG, ESG, and HOME Funds. City officials interviewed grant applicants in February.

The City of Erie published online a summary of its proposed Annual Action Plan for FY 2023. A Draft of the Annual Action Plan will be on display until April 17 at the City of Erie, Community Centers, Blasco Library, and the City of Erie’s website.

Monday’s public sessions will be livestreamed on the City’s Facebook page, at the “Live” tab on the City’s YouTube channel, as well as online through the City’s Government channel at www.camerie.org/vod. Click on “Watch Live” and scroll down to click on the City of Erie logo.

Comments can be taken in person at the hearings on Monday.  If unable to attend, residents and representatives of social service agencies can contact Debra Smith, the City’s Director of Economic and Community Development, at 814-870-1274 or dsmith@erie.pa.us.
