Erie Fire Department swears in nine firefighters and one accelerant-detection dog

The Erie Fire Department, on March 23, 2023, held a swearing-in ceremony for nine new firefighters and Horus, a one-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever, who is the department’s accelerant-detection dog.

City of Erie announces dates, presenting sponsors for CelebrateErie; vendor/performer applications open

Mayor Joe Schember, on Thursday, March 23, announced that Erie’s marquee summer festival, CelebrateErie, will return to downtown Erie, Aug. 18 to Aug. 20. The presenting sponsors for this year’s event will once again be Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital.
